DAILY BLOG - December 12, 2022
Good evening all. This is your daily blog for Monday December 12, 2022.
A chilly, but dry day around the mid-south. Hope you enjoyed this dry day, because tomorrow, heavy raim returns to the forecast as mentioned below.
TUESDAY-TUESDAY NIGHT: On Tuesday, the morning and part of the afternoon will remain dry. Temperatures are expected to be about 10 degrees warmer than what they were today. There is a chance for a strong storm or two with the line of rain and storms that moves through. 1-3 inches of rain is expected before all said and done. This amount of rain on top of Saturated soils could lead to a localized flood threat.
WEDNESDAY: On Wednesday, we dry out. There will likely be some stubborn clouds over the area Wednesday morning, but I do expect the sun to come back out Wednesday afternoon. Temperatures will be in the 50s.
REST OF THE WEEK: Beyond Wednesday, a big drop in temperatures to near what it should be for this time of the year. A nice dry stretch of weather is shaping up for the rest of the week. Expect day time highs each day to be in the 40s and 50s with overnight lows near or below freezing each night.
EXTENDED PERIOD: The extended period is looking interesting. December 17-26, it looks like a major blast of cold air could be the main story. This is a signal that has been shown consistently for the last several days. This is a pattern that will favor winter weather, though it remains unclear if any winter weather will come out of this. Stay tuned.
