DAILY BLOG - December 13, 2022

Good Afternoon! This is your Daily Blog For Tuesday December 13th, 2022.

Hello friends! It is a dry Tuesday so far as predicted, BUT the rain is coming. Tracking a line of showers from near Popular Bluff Missouri all the way down to Pine Bluff Arkansas as of 3:00 pm this afternoon. I want to stress that there is ZERO severe weather in this line. Few claps of thunder, some lightning are certainly possible as it moves through the region for tonight. Because of this additional rain, and the already 3 inches of rain we have gotten over the last week, flooding could become a problem in spots. National weather service has issued a FLOOD WATCH until midnight tonight for southwest parts of West Tennessee (South of Jackson).

REST OF WEEK: For the rest of the week, expect a prolonged stretch of dry weather. Temperatures will be around average for this time of the year. Watching a big cold snap for the weekend. Temperatures could drop into the 20s this weekend in many places for overnight lows. No precipitation is expected through at least Sunday however.

NEXT WEEK: Keeping a very close eye on next week, as there are several very strong signals at what could be major arctic cold, especially late next week. Also watching the first part of next week, as a system is going to come down out of  Canada around that time. Will be watching the model trends over the next few days for any glaring signs of a winter storm during this time frame. Nothing to mention that is set and stone, but a few models do bring a winter storm into this part of the country. We'll just have to wait and see!
